Tour Itinerary
8:00 AM – Pickup from Your Hotel
Your private guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle toward the Giza Plateau.
Starting early is recommended because it generally provides cooler conditions and lighter crowds. Recent visitor guidance also recommends arriving near opening time for a more comfortable experience. EgyGo Travel
8:30 AM – Arrival at the Giza Plateau
Enter one of the world’s most famous archaeological areas.
Your Egyptologist guide will introduce the history of the plateau and explain how the royal pyramid complexes developed during Egypt’s Old Kingdom.
8:45 AM – Great Pyramid of Khufu
Begin at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Walk around the base and appreciate the enormous scale of the monument while your guide explains its construction, purpose and position within the royal complex.
The Great Pyramid is the largest of the three main pyramids on the Giza Plateau.
Visit duration: approximately 45–60 minutes.
Optional – Enter the Great Pyramid
If you would like to explore the interior of the Great Pyramid, this can be added with a separate ticket.
Standard plateau entry and pyramid-interior tickets are generally treated separately, so it is better not to advertise interior access as automatically included. EgyGo Travel
Inside, visitors follow narrow passages toward the internal chambers.
This option should be requested when booking.
9:45 AM – Pyramid of Khafre
Continue toward the Pyramid of Khafre.
The pyramid is particularly recognizable because part of its original smooth limestone casing remains visible near the top.
Your guide will explain why it can appear larger than Khufu’s pyramid from certain viewpoints despite actually being slightly smaller.
10:10 AM – Pyramid of Menkaure
Continue to the Pyramid of Menkaure, the smallest of the three principal pyramids.
Learn about the differences between the three royal pyramid complexes and see some of the smaller queens’ pyramids nearby.
10:30 AM – Panoramic Pyramids Viewpoint
Drive to the famous panoramic viewpoint in the desert.
From here, you can see the three main pyramids together and capture one of the most recognizable views of Egypt.
Current Giza tours consistently include this stop specifically for the full plateau panorama and photographs. Cairo Egypt Travel
Photo stop: approximately 20–30 minutes.
Optional Camel Ride
If desired, add a short camel ride in the panoramic area.
This activity is optional and should only be included when booked.
11:00 AM – Great Sphinx of Giza
Continue toward the legendary Great Sphinx.
Carved from the limestone bedrock, the monument combines a lion’s body with a human head and forms part of the wider royal landscape around Khafre’s pyramid complex.
Take time for photos while your Egyptologist explains the monument’s historical context and its relationship with the surrounding temples.
11:30 AM – Valley Temple of Khafre
Visit the nearby Valley Temple, an important part of Khafre’s funerary complex.
Its massive stone construction helps visitors understand that the Giza Plateau was not simply a collection of pyramids but a network of temples, causeways and burial monuments.
Most well-structured half-day itineraries pair the Valley Temple with the Sphinx because the two sites provide important context for Khafre’s complex. VisitGiza.com
Visit duration: approximately 30 minutes.
12:00 PM – Optional Lunch
After finishing the archaeological visit, you may add lunch at a local restaurant with views of the pyramids or in the surrounding Giza area.
If lunch is part of your package, allow approximately one hour.
12:30–1:00 PM – Return to Your Hotel
Meet your driver and return to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
