11:30 AM – Abu Simbel Relocation Story

Before leaving the site, learn about one of the most remarkable archaeological rescue projects of the 20th century.

The Abu Simbel temples were dismantled and relocated during the 1960s to protect them from the rising waters created by the Aswan High Dam.

Your guide will explain how the temples were cut into large sections and reassembled at a higher location.
