04:30–05:00 — Private Pickup from Your Hotel
Your day begins at the agreed hotel meeting point. Confirm the entrance in advance, especially if your resort has several gates.
Prepare your day bag the evening before and ask your hotel whether it can provide a breakfast box. The early departure may take place before regular breakfast service.
As this is a private arrangement, the pickup is planned around your party. Keep the operator’s contact details accessible in case you need to coordinate with the driver.
05:00–09:15 — Travel from Hurghada to Luxor
Settle into your air-conditioned vehicle for the drive inland.
The proposed schedule includes a 20-minute comfort stop to use the toilets, stretch and eat a breakfast snack. Tell the driver early if your party needs another break, while allowing for its effect on the arrival time.
Use the journey to rest. A private vehicle offers personal space, but this remains a long day with substantial walking after arrival.
09:15–10:45 — Explore Karnak with Your Private Guide
Karnak introduces you to the scale of ancient Egyptian temple building. The complex developed under successive rulers and contains monumental gateways, courts, obelisks and religious spaces.
Its Great Hypostyle Hall contains 134 columns. The Sacred Lake and surviving obelisks offer further insight into the rituals and royal building projects associated with the site. Official Karnak information.
Your guide can explain the main route through the complex and help you connect individual features with their historical purpose.
The suggested 90 minutes includes explanation and photography. If a particular area matters to you, mention it before the visit so the available time can be used thoughtfully.
Look beyond the overall scale: carved figures, inscriptions and surviving colour often reward a closer view.
10:45–11:45 — Drive to Luxor’s West Bank
Continue from Karnak on the East Bank to the royal burial landscape on the West Bank.
This programme allows one hour for the road transfer. Actual timing depends on the route and traffic.
A Nile boat crossing is not included automatically. If you would like a boat experience, request it in advance and clarify whether it would replace part of the transfer or become a separate activity.
11:45–13:15 — Discover the Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings served as a royal burial ground during Egypt’s New Kingdom. Its rock-cut tombs offer a contrasting experience to the open spaces and towering columns at Karnak. Official Valley of the Kings guide.
Ask your guide what to look for before entering the tombs. Understanding the imagery helps you appreciate the painted walls and ceilings rather than simply moving through the corridors.
Standard admission is commonly described as covering three eligible open tombs. Special tombs require separate tickets unless expressly included in your package. Ticket overview.
The open selection and access conditions must be checked on the day.
Want to visit Tutankhamun’s tomb? Ask for the additional ticket and time allowance before booking. A private guide can help organise your priorities, but special admission and access are not automatically included.
13:30–14:15 — Lunch at a Local Restaurant
Enjoy a seated lunch and a break from sightseeing.
The proposed package includes a meal at a local restaurant. Confirm the menu, dietary requirements and whether drinks are included.
If a Nile-view restaurant is important to you, request it specifically rather than assuming the location from promotional photographs.
Keep this time available for rest. Adding activities to every gap can make even a private itinerary feel rushed.
14:30–15:30 — Visit Hatshepsut Temple
Hatshepsut Temple stands beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, with terraces and colonnades forming its distinctive design.
Hatshepsut ruled as pharaoh, and the temple’s reliefs include scenes associated with the expedition to Punt and the presentation of her royal authority. Official Hatshepsut Temple guide.
Start with the view from the approach, then explore the accessible areas with your guide. Connecting the architecture with the ruler’s story gives the visit greater depth.
The planned hour allows an introduction, closer observation and photographs. Tell your guide if standing, ramps or steps are difficult so the pace can be adapted.
15:50–16:10 — Photograph the Colossi of Memnon
Finish the West Bank visits with a short stop at the two seated statues of Amenhotep III.
They once stood at the entrance to his mortuary temple. A brief explanation helps you imagine the much larger complex that surrounded them. Historical background on the Colossi.
Around 20 minutes is reserved for explanation and photographs before beginning the journey back.
From 16:10 — Return to Your Hurghada Hotel
Your private vehicle takes you back to Hurghada, with a planned comfort stop on the way.
The estimated hotel arrival window is 20:30–21:30. Road conditions and delays earlier in the day can affect the return.
Keep the evening flexible and ask your hotel about late dining arrangements before departure.
