16:10–20:30/21:30Return to HurghadaDrive, comfort stop and hotel drop-off

The proposed outbound schedule allows over four hours from departure to the first attraction, including a break. Your operator should adjust this allowance for your exact hotel and transport arrangements.

04:30–05:00 — Hotel Pickup and an Early Start

Prepare your bag the evening before and confirm where to meet the driver. A hotel may have more than one entrance, so a precise pickup point prevents confusion.

Ask your hotel whether it can prepare a breakfast box. With an early departure, you may leave before breakfast service begins.

Keep the booking contact details accessible. If you are joining a shared excursion, ask how many hotel collections take place before the vehicle leaves the resort area.

05:00–09:15 — Travel from Hurghada to Luxor

This is a substantial part of the day, so transport comfort matters.

Confirm whether you will travel by private car, minibus or larger coach. Also ask whether the guide accompanies the road journey or meets you in Luxor; both arrangements exist, and they offer different experiences.

The planned comfort stop gives you time to use the toilets, stretch and eat a breakfast snack. Bring small change for incidental purchases and check whether refreshments are included.

Use the drive to rest. The sightseeing ahead involves several hours on foot.

09:15–10:45 — Walk Through Karnak Temple

Karnak makes an impressive first stop because of its scale. The complex developed over many reigns and contains temples, gateways, obelisks and ceremonial spaces.

Its best-known feature is the Great Hypostyle Hall, with 134 columns. The Sacred Lake and surviving obelisks add context to the religious life and royal building projects associated with the site. Official Karnak information.

A useful visit should answer three questions: who built what you are seeing, how the spaces were used and why rulers continued adding to the complex.

The suggested 90-minute visit allows a focused introduction and photography. It does not cover every part of Karnak, so tell your guide if a particular feature is a priority.

Photography tip: Take an overall view of the column hall, then look for smaller details such as carved figures and surviving colour. This gives you a more varied record of the visit.

10:45–11:45 — Transfer to Luxor’s West Bank

The next part of the route takes you from Karnak on the East Bank to the royal burial landscape on the West Bank.

This timetable allows an hour for the road transfer. Actual timing depends on the route and traffic.

A Nile boat crossing is not automatically part of this programme. If another package includes one, ask how passengers, vehicles and transfers are coordinated, and whether the advertised boat experience is a short crossing or a longer sightseeing ride.

11:45–13:15 — Explore the Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings was used for royal burials during Egypt’s New Kingdom. Its tombs were cut into the rocky landscape, creating underground spaces very different from the temples you visit elsewhere in Luxor. Official Valley of the Kings guide.

The value of the visit comes from observing the decoration and understanding its purpose. Ask your guide what to look for before entering, then take time to study the walls and ceilings.

Standard admission is commonly described as allowing entry to three eligible open tombs. Special tombs, including Tutankhamun and Seti I, require separate tickets unless your package expressly includes them. Tomb ticket overview.

Tomb access and the available selection should be checked on the day. Avoid choosing a tour solely because its photographs show a famous tomb.

If Tutankhamun’s tomb is essential to your visit, request both the ticket and the necessary time in advance. Paying for an additional entrance does not add minutes to a fixed schedule.

13:30–14:15 — Enjoy Lunch and a Rest

After the tomb visits, lunch provides a useful pause before the afternoon programme.

The proposed package includes a meal at a local restaurant. The restaurant, menu and arrangements for dietary requirements should be confirmed when booking.

Do not assume a riverside setting or included drinks unless the quotation states them. These details vary between packages.

Use the break for food, water and a few quiet minutes. A comfortable sightseeing day needs recovery time as well as attractions.

14:30–15:30 — Discover Hatshepsut Temple

Set beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, Hatshepsut Temple is recognised for its terraces, colonnades and distinctive setting.

Hatshepsut ruled as pharaoh, and the monument’s decorative programme includes scenes of the expedition to Punt and imagery presenting her royal authority. Official Hatshepsut Temple guide.

Begin by appreciating the building from the approach, then explore the accessible areas with your guide. The experience becomes more engaging when the architecture is connected to the ruler’s story.

The planned hour gives you time for an introduction, a closer look and photographs. Tell your guide if extended standing, ramps or steps are difficult so the visit can be adjusted.

15:50–16:10 — Stop at the Colossi of Memnon

The two seated statues of Amenhotep III provide a short final stop on the West Bank.

They once stood at the entrance to his mortuary temple. A brief explanation helps you imagine the larger complex that surrounded them. Background on the Colossi stop.

Around 20 minutes is allocated here for context and photographs. This keeps the visit proportionate while protecting the time needed for the journey back.

16:10–20:30/21:30 — Return to Your Hurghada Hotel

The return journey includes a planned comfort stop and hotel drop-off.

The arrival window is approximate. Shared drop-offs, traffic or delays earlier in the day may extend it.

Keep the evening free of fixed commitments. Ask your hotel about late dining arrangements before departure, particularly if your meal plan has a closing time.
